Robin Westley

Robin is a partner in the Property Law Practice, with over 27 years of specialised experience in property and commercial law. He advises a broad range of clients, including several major South African banks, as well as commercial and residential property owners and developers. His areas of focus include commercial property transactions, residential and commercial developments, and commercial banking law. He also has expertise in the legal frameworks impacting the sugar industry.
A qualified Notary Public and Conveyancer, Robin is well-regarded for his depth of knowledge in all aspects of property law, notarial work, and conveyancing. He has lectured for the South African Property Owners’ Association (SAPOA) and the Law Society of South Africa’s School for Legal Practice. He is a long-standing member of SAPOA and is committed to knowledge-sharing and the professional development of the legal and property sectors.
Beyond his legal work, Robin has played an active role at his alma mater, Maritzburg College. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Maritzburg College Old Boys’ Association, including a term as Vice President, and was a member of the school’s Governing Body, where he chaired the Legal and Discipline Committee and regularly presided over disciplinary tribunals. Robin also served as a director and Chairman of the Maritzburg College Foundation, contributing significantly to the advancement of the school’s legacy.
